4. MATTERS ARISING
(1) Additional Parking at the Memorial Hall – Action Plan
The Parish Council recognise the priority to provide additional parking in the centre of the Village and will initiate an Action Plan to extend the Memorial Hall car park to the right of the Memorial Hall. Mr Davie and Mr Blackman agreed to take the leadership of this plan and agreed to drawn up preliminary proposals to be discussed with the full Parish Council and
the other parties that would be required to be consulted on such a development. These include the Knole Estate, Sevenoaks District Council, Kent County Council and the Planning Inspectorate.
(2) Methodist Church – Works following purchase
The Parish Council agreed that the works required followed purchase should be re-assessed as it was over a year since the last assessment was made to ensure that works and the associated costs are within the budget previous agreed. It was agreed that this assessment should take place once formal confirmation of the Parish Council’s access rights to the property had been given through the renewal of the Parish Council’s lease over the Green.
(3) Methodist Church – Public Consultation on future use
It was aged that the Parish Council should lead this consultation process by defining suggested priorities for the use of the space and then allows the community to comment and add to these suggestions. This process will also begin once the lease of the Green is formally renewed.
(4) High Weald Councils Aviation Group – Response to Gatwick’s Second Runway Proposal
Mr Blackman advised that a very robust objection will be made the these proposals with there being a compelling argument that the extension of one of Heathrow’s runways was the most cost and environmental efficient and effective solution to the future growth air traffic in the south east of England.
